Christyn Jaap, MA, LPC

Christyn “Christy” Jaap is a Licensed Professional Counselor and owner of Oak Bridge Counseling, PLLC.  She received her Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Interdisciplinary Studies in 2013 then received her Master of Arts (MA) degree in Counseling in 2017.  Christy has previously worked in the school setting for several years, and she specializes in working with children and adolescents. 

She has partnered with a company who primarily provides counseling to children and adolescents who are in foster care, thus focusing on helping individuals who have experienced trauma in life.  Christy has experience with Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and also utilizes Internal Family Systems (IFS) therapy.

 

 

Kim Reynolds, PhD, LMFT-S, LPC-S

Dr. Kim Reynolds holds a PhD in Child Development and Education.  She is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist-Supervisor and Licensed Professional Counselor-Supervisor.  Dr. Kim has both extensive training and experience with children, tweens, and adolescents in areas of Autism, ADHD, Neurodivergent clients, Learning Disabilities, and Dual Diagnoses using Play Therapy, Sandtray Therapy, and Behavioral Therapy.

Additionally, she provides Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy and Family Therapy, as well as individual counseling for adults suffering from trauma, relationships issues, and parenting issues.

 

 

Shelly Richardson, MS, LPC, LSSP

Shelly Richardson received her Master of Science (MS) degree in School Psychology and Applied Psychology, and she is a Licensed Professional Counselor and Licensed Specialist in School Psychology. She has experience working in the education system for 21 years as a School Psychologist.  In the school setting, she evaluated for academic and emotional/behavioral disorders as well as counseling with individual students and provided behavior consultation/support to staff and parents.  She previously spent time working with the local mental health authority providing counseling and crisis screenings for suicidal/homicidal ideation. 

Shelly particularly enjoys working with children and adolescents with primarily focusing on a CBT approach, which can be helpful in treating anxiety, depression, and other mood disorders.  She has experience working with individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder and their families to build system of support in the home environment.  

 

 

Kurt Bannert, MA, LPC-S

Kurt Bannert is a Licensed Professional Counselor-Supervisor (LPC-S). He earned dual Bachelor of Arts degrees in Psychology and Russian Language in 2012, followed by a Master of Arts in Counseling in 2014.

Kurt has provided counseling services across a variety of contexts, including outpatient mental health facilities and educational institutions. He currently serves as District LPC for a local school district, offering comprehensive mental health support to students and staff across his school district. In addition, he has experience delivering international tele-therapy services to Third-Culture Kids (TCKs) and expatriates in numerous countries around the world.

With a deep commitment to individualized care, Kurt brings extensive experience working with children, adolescents, and individuals with a wide range of concerns including behavioral disorders and helping individuals navigate trauma and grief. His therapeutic approach is integrative and client-centered, drawing primarily from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Person-Centered Therapy to best meet the unique needs of each client.

 

 

Ericka Rogers, MEd, LPC Associate

Supervised by Kurt Bannert, MA, LPC-S

Ericka Rogers is a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate in Texas. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Education from the University of Central Arkansas and a Master of Education in Counseling and Development from Lamar University.

With a heart for guiding others through life’s challenges, Ericka works with individuals in all stages of life but is especially passionate about counseling teenagers and young adults. Her many years of experience in school environments and volunteer ministry roles have shaped her compassionate approach to care. Supporting the emotional and mental well-being of adolescents has long been her calling, and it was this dedication that led her to the counseling profession.

Ericka’s therapeutic style is primarily client-centered, creating a safe and supportive space where clients feel heard and valued. She also incorporates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and solution-focused techniques to help clients identify strengths, set goals, and create meaningful change.

She has a special passion for walking alongside those in ministry households, understanding the unique pressures they face and providing support with grace and empathy.

Jeannie Weaver

Supervised by Christyn Jaap, MA, LPC

Jeannie Weaver is a Clinical Mental Health Counseling intern completing her Master of Education degree at Lamar University.  With over two decades of experience in education and leadership roles, Jeannie brings a compassionate and person-centered approach to counseling.  Her therapeutic work is informed by trauma-informed Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and she is committed to creating a safe, supportive environment where clients can explore their experience and move toward healing and growth.

Jeannie has served in a variety of educational and community settings, and her work with organizations like Celebrate Recovery and Recovery Alive has deepened her passion for walking alongside individuals in their recovery and wellness journeys.
